Internet and computers in our life
The Internet appeared in the mid 60s and it was called ARPAnet (Advanced Research Projects Agency Net) – a network that wired several computers in a Pentagon’s research department named ARPA. From its beginnings it had the purpose of exchanging and transmitting data. The Internet became very important thanks to its multiple uses (discussions on professional issues, keeping up to date with new discoveries, a new business environment) and easy access. In the 21st this global network keeps developing a virtual world for social networking, e-commerce, e-learning, jobs market, entertainment, media etc.
Computers in the 21st century become increasingly smaller and more efficient, a personal asset for many people, a way of communicating with friends and family, a way of spending free time, an important product in many jobs. They first appeared in 19th century being developed by companies like IBM or Apple and are used by more and more people facilitating different activities. Computers can store more information, they consume less power and have become much easier to handle. There are a wide range to choose from depending on a person’s needs and budget: laptops, notebooks or a traditional computer.
Computers and Internet are and will be the future in many fields, opening new doors for business development, entertainment, media etc. With a fast evolution, they have a significant role in everyday life of many persons beginning with the youngest users and finishing with the older ones.
